VVF

Tourism Residence

Founded in 1958, under the leadership of President Louis Tissot and General Manager André Guignand, the VVF association, officially known as Villages Vacances Familles (Family Holiday Villages), has been dedicated to offering high-quality vacations for families, particularly those with modest means while also fostering the development of rural areas through tourism.

In 1963, VVF inaugurated 39 vacation villages, while in 1989 was managing 135 vacation villages spread across 112 towns in 52 departments.

In the 90’s, VVF did a renovation program, with a budget exceeding 400 million francs. The 58% of this budget was self-financed through loans and contributions from associate. The Caisse des Dépôts et des Consignations (a French public financial institution) contributed 22%, the French government allocated 11%, and the Caisse Nationale des Allocations Familiales (the family branch of the French social security system) provided 9%.

Since 2020, VVF has taken a step further by intensifying their efforts in social, solidarity-based, sustainable, and responsible tourism.

Today, VVF stands as an associative company under the Law of 1901 and operates within the framework of the Social and Solidarity Economy.
