Key figures
Toyoko Inn, whose name refers to the municipalities of Tokyo and Yokohama, was founded in 1986 and is now one of the largest chains in Japan. Mainly aimed at business customers, it completed three major capital increases in 1987,1990 and 1993 and then developed massively in the country during the 1990s and 2000s.
After a slowdown between 2011 and 2014, its development has accelerated again since 2015. While Toyoko Inn remains largely focused on Japan, the chain has opened up to international markets, first to South Korea in 2008 and then Cambodia. Opened in the spring of 2017, the Toyoko Inn in Frankfurt is its first hotel outside Asia, and its first unit in France will soon open in Marseille. The group plans to further expand internationally, particularly in New York and London.
The group's portfolio now includes more than 50,000 rooms in 255 economy hotels, 6 of which are located in South Korea. It is the world's 25th largest hotel operator.
