Over the years, the Honotel Group has become a key player in hotel investment and management in France and Europe.
After managing the French subsidiary of the Best Western franchise group, Antoine de Bouchony and Laurent Lapouille joined forces to create Paris-Honotel in 2001. They took over the asset management and operational management of a portfolio of 3- and 4-star hotels in Paris.
Between 2003 and 2008, the group managed the Timotel portfolio of 15 2- and 3-star Parisian hotels on behalf of LFPI.
Subsequently, Honotel supported the creation of FCPR CHF in partnership with Chequers Capital, building up a portfolio of funds with the acquisition of 19 3- and 4-star hotels throughout France. The Group is responsible for the operational management and asset management of the portfolio.
In 2015, the SGP Hôtel Investisement Capital was created, and the following year completed the capital raising for its first fund. 2016 also saw the launch of the HappyCulture Collection label, in which the customer experience is entirely at the heart of the hotels' operational strategy.
Honotel completed its range of expert services in 2017 with the launch of Honotel MDO to monitor the operations of all its partners during the phases of their investments.
The SGP Hôtel Investisement Capital is in charge of a new fund from 2020, the FCPI Cap Hospitality, which is dedicated to short and medium-stay commercial accommodation.
The year 2021 brought a wealth of new developments, with the roll-out of the Ozz and HappyCulture brands, the acquisition of a first hotel outside France (Madrid) and the launch of an opportunistic Value Add fund, Cap Hospitality III. That same year, LBO became a majority shareholder in the group.
Honotel currently operates in 8 European countries, in a portfolio of 130 properties, with a budget, mid-range and top-of-the-range positioning in Europe and an asset value of €1.2 billion.
