W Worldwide innovative hotels throughout Europe

Marriott International and Progetto Majestic join forces to develop the W Hotels Worldwide brand.

This new brand is part of the Marriott hotel chain and has succeeded in popularizing a new lifestyle hotel concept with a focus on fashion and design. Marriott International currently operates 14 properties and residences under the W brand in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. By 2020, W Hotels Worldwide had 66 hotels in 25 countries with 16,494 rooms. In addition, it plans to expand both domestically and internationally with 34 hotels and 8,276 rooms.

Now the brand wants to conquer Florence with the help of the Marriott International hotel chain and Progetto Majestic. The new W Florence will be located in the heart of the artistic city, along the Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo, and is expected to open in 2023. The hotel will feature 120 rooms, including 20 suites, rare and highly sought-after indoor and outdoor living spaces, and a W Lounge and Living Room on the first floor that will be harmoniously articulated around a partially covered central courtyard.

"We are very pleased to have signed this luxury hotel that will be a highlight of the city of Florence. The building itself is a historical landmark as it is the first of only two modern structures built at this time, making the trendy W Hotels brand the perfect partner. W Hotels embraces the history of each location while adding an unexpected and exciting experience that will make this hotel a glamorous and social new destination," said Roberto Puccini, CEO of PROGETTO MAJESTIC S.R.L.

“Florence is a dynamic, awe-inspiring city and we are thrilled to collaborate with Progetto Majestic S.r.l. to bring W Hotels to the city,” said Gianleo Bosticco, Senior Director, Development Italy, Marriott International. “This key signing underscores the growth of our luxury portfolio across Italy and impressive demand for the W brand“
