Thomas Cook will present concept stores with diverse services on a platform that goes far in advance of an OTA.

The CEO and President of Fosun Jim Qian explained:

The new Thomas Cook will be more than just an online travel agency, with plans to create concept stores and a lifestyle platform that will offer entertainment, tickets to shows or events and a service to transport clients's shopping back home.

The lifestyle platform Thomas Cook UK will include hotels, ticketing, entertainment, education, gifts and souvenir sales by retailers. It also integrate a courier company so that customers can transport home the products they buy during their vacations.

For the moment, the brand has been re-launched as an OTA with the intention of adding "new products, gradually, to the platform", as has been done in China.

The Thomas Cook brand will also be reinforced with concept stores, starting in early 2021 in Shanghai.

Jim Qian said:

They will be more than travel agencies, they will be multifunctional, but not on a large scale. The stores will have attractions such as ski machines with instructors, cafes that will serve exotic drinks and educational workshops for children.
