Meliá Hotels International and Generali Real Estate are pleased to announce a unique project in Milan.
Meliá Hotels International and Generali Real Estate have announced a unique project in Milan, the opening of a new Gran Meliá Hotel in the city center in 2023. This announcement illustrates the confidence of both players in Milan and the recognition of the investment opportunities in the city.
The 5-star hotel will be the result of a complete renovation and restoration of Palazzo Venezia, one of the most recognizable buildings in Piazza Cordusio, just a few meters from Piazza del Duomo. The building owes its name to Generali's Venetian roots. It was designed at the end of the 19th century by architect Luca Beltrami and built by the Generali Group as its headquarters in Milan. The transformation of the building into a luxury hotel will be an essential transition associated with ultramodern hospitality. Following its renovation, the building will meet the criteria required to obtain LEED Gold certification, an international recognition of sustainability, remarkable in the case of a historic building.
Thanks to its location, the new Hotel Gran Meliá will set a new benchmark for luxury travel, offering business and leisure travelers a starting point from which to explore the city of Milan and, more specifically, to discover the city of fashion and design and its artistic and cultural monuments.
After an extensive renovation, the building will retain its historic façade and will house 70 luxurious rooms designed to offer guests an unforgettable stay. In addition, this establishment will offer gastronomic experiences, offering gourmet travelers a selection of Italian and international cuisine. It will also feature a bar and a rooftop terrace with a 360° view of the city.
Finally, this new project will allow guests to discover and appreciate the destination and explore the true essence of the city.
