Christian Meunier

After nearly 35 years spent at the Lucien Barrière Group, Christian Meunier, CEO of the group, has decided to take his career in hospitality in a new direction.

After a few years at InterContinental Paris and Sofitel Bourbon, near the National Assembly, Christian Meunier joined the Lucien Barrière Group in 1980 as deputy manager at the Royal Barrière in Deauville. He rapidly climbed within the group to manage the most beautiful hotels along the Coast of Normandy and to take over operations in Normandy, then the Grand Ouest, before rejoining the Group’s headquarters in 2000.

He then became the deputy general manager in charge of the hotel, leisure and restaurant business. He was then named COO and member of the board of directors over which he became co-chairman. The new legal structure implemented in the group led him recently to the position of CEO.

Today, at 60 years of age, Christian Meunier wishes to send his career in a new direction by shifting away from operations. Although he will remain connected to the group through advisory tasks, he will distance himself.

In the weeks to come we should see a new operational organization develop around the chairman Dominique Desseigne.
