Till Palme, director of the German tourist office in France, announced on Wednesday that he was leaving to be replaced by Bénédicte Richer-Langlais, who has been managing director of the Deutsche-Bahn.

After 4 years at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bénédicte Richer-Langlais has become the new Director of ONAT for France. She has worked her way up through the ranks at Deutsche Bahn France, from Individual & Group Travel Advisor to General Manager 20 years later. Bénédicte RICHER-LANGLAIS then held management positions, and in particular was in charge of tourism promotion within the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. This active member of "Femmes du Tourisme" and of the Advisory Board of "combigo" since July 2019 says on LinkedIn that she is "delighted and ready to take on new challenges".

With 1.3 million overnight stays in 2020 (source: germany.travel), France is the ninth most important market for Germany. Recently, Germany's worldwide reputation was reinforced by the inscription of 9 sites on the Unesco World Heritage List, notably the spa towns of Baden-Baden and Bad Ems. A good basis for the new director general to work on.
