MGM Resorts International and Hyatt, Caesars Entertainment Corp. and Starwood, and the independent Cosmopolitan and Marriott are pairing up for loyalty points with a goal to buoy the spirits of both Casinos and Customers and to bring hotel chains into the action. The deals give customers another way to gamble: by earning and redeem loyalty points with both the hotel and casino chains. For exemple, guests at MGM's 12 resort destinations, including Bellagio, MGM Grand, Aria and Mandalay Bay, may enjoy the benefits of Hyatt's loyalty program. And if they come with enough points, they may experience Las Vegas like a winner. Hotel chains, meanwhile, gain a presence in one of the biggest tourist destinations in the United States and offer casinos alternative wares to sell. After being hit by the recession, Casinos are hoping these partnerships will bring some needed bounce as well as offer Las Vegas a more respectable image than the dubious one major hotel chains shied away from. Some Strip Casinos have not yet made their way to the chapel... these include Wynn Las Vegas, which owns Wynn and Encore casinos.
