Carnival has best-ever year in Europe

Carnival Corp has carried more than 7m passengers in the year to end-Oct06, resulting in a net income of $2.28bn on revenues of $11.84m, a slight improvement over 2005, a successful year already. Chairman and CEO of the cruise company Mickey Arison said that “our European cruise brands enjoyed record yields and earnings this past year, compared to a challenging economic environment in the North America source market”. European bookings for 07 continue to be strong, while Carnival is increasing its overall capacity by 8.4%.
