With its new properties, all located in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the group adds 817 rooms to its strengthening portfolio on the sub-continent's market, and announces its 2020 target for expansion in India.
Through an agreement with Mushtaq Group of Hotels, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is expanding its footprint at the base of the Himalayas. With the opening of seven properties under three of its brands, the American group gains 817 rooms and becomes the leading international operator in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, in the northernmost part of the country. Two Radisson Blu hotels (in Srinagar and Tangmarg), two Radisson hotels (in Srinagar and Pahalgam), and three new Country Inn & Suites by Carlson (in Jammu, Sonamarg, and in the ski resort of Gulmarg) will join the group's portfolio.
Carlson Rezidor now has close to 120 properties that are operational or under development in India, in more than 45 destinations in the country. With close to fifteen signatures in 2015 alone, the goal of the American operator is to reach 170 mid- and upscale properties by 2020 on the Indian market.
