Marriott International is getting closer to the heart of Europe with the opening of its Courtyard Brussels EU, a 180-room/suite address. The property is located near the Brussels-Schuman and Brussels-Luxembourg stations, between the Brussels Park and the different offices of the leading European institutions. While the address has what it takes to seduce business tourists and MICE travelers, it is also located near major tourist attractions in the Belgian capital such as the Grand-Place, Musée Magritte, and Musée de la BD. The Courtyard Brussels EU also has an fitness room, three meeting rooms, and a bistro with Scandinavian fare. Marriott International's portfolio includes six properties in Brussels. This new opening is the brand's second in the Belgian capital, after the Courtyard by Marriott Brussels (191 rooms) northeast of the city center. As of January 1, 2016, the new conglomerate made up of Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts is now the leading hotel operator worldwide with 5,640 hotels for a total of 1,108,852 rooms worldwide, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
