Brazil attracted more tourists in 2012

Over the year, the number of international tourists to this destination increased by 4.5% in comparison to the 2011 figures.

A year before the 2014 World Cup, Brazilian tourism is on a positive trend. In 2012, the destination received 5.7 million international tourists, 4.5% more than during 2011.

The United States took second place behind Argentina, despite a drop of 1.4% in the number of tourists. European countries represented 30% of the total visits to the country, with 1.65 million visitors, up by 1.9% particularly due to the momentum of markets like Germany and Italy. On the subject of emerging countries, China was on the list of the 20 first course markets with an 18% rise in visits and Russia saw its number of visitors increase by 12.5%.
