The hotel group decided to establish its first Hotel Indigo in Belgium in the center of Antwerp, in the diamond district.
The hotel Indigo Antwerp - City Centre has 82 rooms inspired by Flemish culture and design. Colorful accents on the walls, the materials and patterns used reflect the surrounding bohemian neighborhood.
The city of Antwerp is known for its diamond industry, Cathedral of Our Lady of Antwerp, its cafés as well as its fashion and entertainment culture with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
Gaétan Demoor, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Antwerp – City Centre is "enchanted by the addition of this new property in the Hotel Indigo range in Europe".
Hotel Indigo currently has 24 properties in Europe and 18 are scheduled to open in the next five years.
As of January 1, 2017, IHG ranked third hotel group worldwide with 5,174 properties for a total of more than 767,000 rooms, according to data from Hospitality ON.
