Connexion to build memories remains a priority, nothing new about it, when travelling, people are expecting to discover, experience or, for the more conventional, cut from their everyday lives. Hospitality professionals have already started to adapt their offer to these new expectations.

The role of human interaction: a need for soft skills

No matter how beautiful and complete the product is, most of memories are built through human interaction. Having qualified and service-oriented employees is then one of the most important keys to success. A real central issue in the times when recruiting and keeping employees, is a real challenge for the hospitality industry.

Making memories: extra personalised service

Hostels answer that need of flexibility offering the possibility to stay for an accessible price whether in a private room or a dormitory. How can budget hotel meet these expectations? Are they willing to? Less is more might become a new trend too, with customers expecting basic services for a fair price answering their primary needs: sleep, eat, and check emails.

Hotels are to be connected to their territories, local personnel, local dishes, local experiences are obvious to travellers. They want to find the destination in their accommodation. It is also a good mean to develop more sustainable actions by seeking for a positive impact on local territories.

Women travelling solo, family tribes, seniors… customers are expecting to feel safe, welcome, and taken care of. That means that hoteliers are to better know their customers. Those signals are conveyed by simple little gestures, such as welcome kits for women including menstrual protections, or bigger changes in the hotel such as welcoming pets.

Managing an hotel is about being able to answer an always widder range of needs and expectations.
