Bathrooms: innovative accessories

The special care being given over to bathroom design is increasingly important. In order to follow the desires of interior designers, suppliers are competing for originality and black accessories are finding their way into bathrooms. In addition to a new collection made of matte stainless steel for the economy segment, Manusec is also selling its Black collection made of black enameled brass that addresses design and upscale hotels. Aliseo also offers black: a soap dish, glass holder and soap distributor set of black and chrome. In a more glitzy style that more specifically targets the Asian luxury hotel sector, the German firm has just produced its Signature Series: a full line of accessories encrusted with Swarovski crystals including hair dryer and mirror. Among all these accessories, the square is now at arms with the circle to see which will have the honor of gracing washbasins and bathtubs. This is particularly true for mirrors. By associating lightness with simplicity, the magnifying mirror Cubik, launched over five years ago, remains one of Aliseo's star products, and is notably present at the Peninsula in Tokyo. With LED lighting it saves energy, but the German supplier is working on a prototype that uses organic LEDs, which even more efficient. JVD is also focusing on LED lighting for its magnifying mirror Eclips. Available in both square and round versions, this mirror frees itself of all electrical wiring thanks to its lithium batteries that last 3 to 5 years. As bedrooms and bathrooms merge together, hairdryers are naturally finding their way into the bedroom. And hotel suppliers have adapted to this new trend. With 1,200W of power, the Eden hairdryer from JVD is one of the slimmest on the market (75 mm) and is able to easily slip into any drawer. Manusec is also “externalizing” hair dryers. In order to stow hair dryers outside the bathroom while making it clear to clientele that it belongs to the hotel and thus avoid theft, the supplier offers hoteliers a black cotton bag that may be personalized with the property's name or logo. This foray into the bedroom encourages elegance, with Aliseo working in this direction with its Black Mambo model, covered in imitation leather. The quality of hair dyers also -and above all- is a function of their efficiency. Manusec thus offers the Swiss Nano Push 9000 hair dryer that is ultra compact and ultra powerful (2,000W) with its professional AC motor. Nonetheless, the standards set by certain brands in terms of power are faced with increased environmental awareness. Eco-friendly technologies that consume 1,200W are making their way without losing in terms of efficiency thanks to a shorter drying time. At Manusec, the Eco Power hair dryer uses 40% less energy thanks to its ionic technology that also softens hair. Aliseo also sells ceramic or ionic models and is working on an even less energy-hungry hair dryer thanks to new heating technology from the automobile sector.
