Barclays battle over Maybourne hotel

Ireland's Independent reports that battle over Maybourne Hotels, the group that owns the Connaught (pictured below), Claridge's and the Berkeley, in London, is getting worse.

The Barclay brothers (who own the Telegraph newspaper group and the Ritz) have the upper hand in the battle for control of Maybourne Hotels, which is now split between the Barclays, who control 64 percent of stakes, and Irish developer Paddy McKillen.There is tension between the parties after McKillen likened the two brothers to corporate raiders after transaction earlier in 2011 saw NAMA sell $1 billion of debt it has on the hotels to the Barclay brothers.
