The Ascend Hotel Collection label will open its first property in Germany in 2018, in the town of Kerpen, Michael Schumacher’s birthplace. The hotel will be an integral part of the new Motorworld Koln-Rheinland, the permanent personal car collection exhibition of the former F1 champion, and its offer includes a few winks to the automotive world.
Located in a former building of the Butzweilerhof Airport, in the Ossendorf district, the hotel will host 110 rooms and a suite, including 10 decorated under the automobile theme. The hotel will also include 5 lofts allowing guests to park their car next to their room, as well as a breakfast room with a terrace, a bar, a meeting room and a library. The V8 Hotel Koeln @Motorworld will be managed via a franchise agreement between Fortuna Hospitality GmbH & Co. KG, Fidelis Hospitality GmbH and Choice Hotels; catering and seminar rooms will be managed by Motorworld.
"Ascend properties makes the difference with their charm and unique characteristics. That is why the V8 Hotel Koeln @Motorworld has been designed to support Motorworld's overall theme, perfectly fitting into the portfolio of our Ascend boutique-hotels. The Ascend Hotel Collection label allows independent hotels to emphasize their identity and originality while taking advantage of Choice's innovative technology, the rapid growth of the customer loyalty program, and the support of an international brand," commented Georg Schlegel, Managing Director of Choice Hotels for Germany and Central Europe.
Launched in 2008, the Ascend Hotel Collection network is mostly located in the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe. It made its debut in France in 2016 with the opening of hotel La Malmaison in Nice.
