Langham Hospitality Group: Brett Butcher returns as CEO

Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) welcomes back Brett Butcher as CEO, who previously held the same role for five years beginning in 2009. He left the group in 2014 and returned as managing director of GE Hospitality Asset Management Limited in 2017, a position he will continue to hold.

Brett Butcher will provide guidance on the group's hotel operations, lead all hotel owner relationships and solicit new management contracts in key destinations around the world.

An Australian national with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland, Brett Butcher has served Langham Hospitality Group as senior vice president of sales, marketing and branding, as well as general manager of Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong (later renamed Cordis, Hong Kong.)

Prior to joining Langham Hospitality Group, Brett  Butcher spent nearly 20 years in various operational and executive roles in the Pacific, North America and China.

We are delighted that Brett will once again lead the Langham Hospitality Group portfolio. Brett is a seasoned hotelier with significant experience in the luxury hotel industry, and he is ideally suited to lead the company through our Covid-19 turnaround phases and implement a strong succession plan for the group.

Dr. K.S. Lo, executive chairman of Langham Hospitality Group

This year, we opened hotels in Langham Place, Changsha, Cordis Hangzhou, and a fully renovated The Langham, Boston. We will welcome our first guests in the next two months at The Langham, Jakarta and the new 240-room Pinnacle Tower extension in Cordis, Auckland, as well as the stunning The Langham, Gold Coast, Australia, in early 2022.

I look forward to leading the team at The Langham and working with like-minded investors, while ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and financial operating results.
