Accor has just announced the appointment of Omer Acar as General Manager of Raffles & Orient Express. He will take up his position on 1 March 2023.
A graduate of the Montreux Hotel Institute, Hawaii Pacific University and Cornell University, Omer Acar began his career with Four Seasons, holding various operational positions in the F&B department of several hotels in the United States and Egypt.
In 2005, he became head of the F&B department at Harrods and was appointed General Manager of the Ritz Paris in 2006. He then took over the management of the Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, a position he held for three years.
In 2015, he was appointed Managing Director Europe and Americas at Katara Hospitality, in charge of 18 properties, including Plaza New York, Peninsula Paris, Carlton Cannes, Excelsior Rome, Grosvenor House and Savoy London.
Omer Acar is a leading luxury hotel specialist with extensive knowledge of the luxury industry. He will bring his expertise to Accor and assist the Raffles and Orient Express brands in building their reputation around the world as they continue to expand internationally.
Based in New York, he will report directly to Sébastien Bazin on the Luxury & Lifestyle Executive Committee and will work closely with the General Managers of the other brands in this division. He will also be responsible for representing Accor in the North American market.
