Kempinski Hotels has initiated a strategic realignment in its operational leadership, in order to facilitate the exchange of insights and practices between regions.
Xavier Destribats, who has held the position of Chief Operations Officer for The Americas for the past seven years, will transition back to Geneva to oversee the European region alongside his existing responsibilities. Meanwhile, Timur Sentuerk, who has been responsible for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), will relocate to Dubai to concentrate solely on the Middle East and Africa. Both executives are integral members of the Kempinski Hotels Managing Board.
Xavier Destribats joined Kempinski in 2011 after having held important positions at Morgan Stanley Capital and Hyatt Hotels Corporation. He previously served as President of Europe before assuming his current role as COO of The Americas in 2017.
Timur Sentuerk, joined Kempinski in 2022. As COO for Europe, Middle East & Africa, Sentuerk has played an important role in driving operational excellence across these regions.
“The switch of regions of these two top leaders signifies an inspiring knowledge transfer from their vast experience in different work and cultural environments,” “Moreover, in consideration of the substantial development pipeline within the Middle East and Africa, holding high strategical importance for Kempinski’s footfall and prominence as a global leading luxury brand, it has become critical over time to split the responsibilities for the regions as the scopes became too large”- René Nijhof, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kempinski Hotels S.A.
