The Accor group has recorded uninterrupted growth in its hotel portfolio since 2019 and even the health crisis has not slowed this development. The group is also in line with current trends by committing to more sustainable tourism.

With a +3.10% growth in its fleet, meaning 22,458 additional rooms in 2020, the French group continues its 2019 momentum (+3.30%). Accor is closing in on Wyndham after reaching 750,000 rooms. The group led by Sébastien Bazin sold in 2020 part of its shares in the Chinese group Huazhu for 239 million euros.
Accor announced in November 2020 exclusive negotiations with Ennismore, the world's largest lifestyle hotels operator, in a sector that is experiencing the most significant growth in the industry. Indeed, the number of lifestyle hotels is expected to triple by 2023. This announcement comes simultaneously with the one about the acquisition of all the brands of the American group sbe. 40 new hotels will be added in 2021 to the 22 already owned by sbe; brands such as Delano, Mondrian, SLS and Hyde will be added to the French giant's portfolio. Accor wants to take advantage of the health crisis by betting on the lifestyle segment.
Always looking ahead to the near future and in line with the latest market trends, the French group has also signed an agreement with Expedia Group and UNESCO to promote sustainable tourism around the world.
