An Airbnb location has been judged illegal

An individual was sentenced to pay a fine of 2,400 dollars for having put up his appartment for rent through the website CtoC in violation of hotel rules.

According to New York law, any individual who wishes to rent his property for a duration less than 29 days (or to touristic ends) should declare it as a hotel and pay the corresponding taxes.
