According to data from Federalberghi, the Italian hoteliers federation, the number of nights in Italian hotels was up by 3.6% in 2015 over 2014.
The professional organization observed growth in local clientèle this year, with Italians staying in hotels in higher numbers than foreigners. The number of of nights by nationals increased by 3.2%, while foreign visitors were nonetheless up by 4.1%.
This data confirms figures observed by MKG Hospitality on the first eleven months of the year, showing 12.2% growth in Revenue per available room (RevPAR) on the period, which may be accounted for by the 2.3 points growth in occupancy rates at properties and 8.5% growth in the average daily rate.
