Yann Caillère, current CEO of the Accor group and candidate for the position of President and CEO, has called together the franchisees to present his roadmap to them. It was based on 5 objectives:
- operational excellence
- digitalization and distribution
- creation of a Partner & Hotel Services Department
- asset management
- development
It will be implemented via three management axes:
- transformation
- simplification
- digitalization
This plan seems to have convinced the franchisees who have taken their co-president, Patrick Jacquier, as their mouthpiece to show him their support and confidence. In a communiqué, "the franchisees are especially welcoming to Yann Caillère's will to work on optimizing the economic models of each brand in consideration of the restraints of size and geographical location, a request repeatedly made by franchisees. The franchisees were also reassured by the CEO's willingness to remain an operator and maintain 20% of subsidiaries"."Hotelier, a true expert in a changing sector", Yann Caillère is, for the franchisees, "the best able to preserve the Accor specificities inherent to its position as the primary international hotel operator, and at the same time to assure its transformation, change which the franchise also judge necessary and urgent considering current distribution issues".The Accor Franchisee Federation nevertheless raised two issues that grabbed their attention by directly calling to the two main shareholders Eurazeo and Colony Capital: "Firstly, will the announced budget, particularly regarding distribution, be sustained or enhanced if necessary? Second, what additional contributions are required of franchisees who have already largely contributed to the transformation of the Group by providing significant additional resources through increased franchise fees and the creation of marketing fees?" Response will come in a few days or weeks to see if they were heard.
