
Not only is Accor celebrating its 30th anniversary in Asia Pacific, but it is also celebrating record growth this year with 110 new hotels in AP by the end of the year, a record-breaking year for the group.
Accor broke into the region in 1982 with a hotel in Singapore, having grown into the region’s market leader. As of 2012, the group operates 550 hotels (105,000 rooms) in the region. To mark the anniversary, Accor signed a new contract for the 150-room Novotel Goa Shrem Resort, the first Accor presence in India.At the signing, Denis Hennequin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Accor S.A. announced, “Dynamic, diverse, growing – these three words aptly describe Accor’s first three decades in Asia-Pacific. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, I am proud to reflect not only on our successes and on lessons learned, but also to look forward to the tremendous opportunities that await us.”
