
During September, Abu Dhabi received the record number of 226,003 tourists, an increase of 19% over the same period last year. The emirate's hoteliers were thus able to reach 714,577 night stays over the period, or 26% more than in September 2012. This renewal of tourism activity led to a 5.1% increase in Revenue per available room, according to data published by MKG Hospitality.According to Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, more than 1.9 million visitors traveled to the emirate's 148 hotels and apartments over the first nine months of the year, 14% more than during the same period in 2012. The number of night stays thus surpassed 6.1 million for a 25% increase from one year to the next. A rising trend is confirmed by the 17.5 % increase in RevPAR over the period, observed by MKG Hospitality."We are delighted with this increase in visitor numbers, especially in view of our hotel supply development, including a 13% increase in the number of rooms between this year and last year", said Mubarak Al Muhairi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.
