InterContiental Hotels Group signs two properties in Dubai, in partnership with API Hotels & Resorts: a hotel and a residential complex now join the British hospitality group's portfolio.
The British hotelier InterContinental Hotels Group has just announced the signing of two new properties in Dubai: a hotel and a residential complex will be developed in partnership with API Hotels & Resorts.
The Crowne Plaza Dubai Business Bay hotel, located in the emirate's dynamic centre, will feature 290 rooms and suites, as well as dining outlets, a fitness centre and an outdoor infinity pool. In addition, a ballroom and meeting rooms will also be included to meet business travellers' needs at this property, set to open by 2019.
Nearby, a new residential complex will see the light of day: InterContinental Residence Suites Dubai Business Bay, developed at a waterfront location, will feature 160 residential units. Among them, 30 studios, 60 one-bedroom apartments, 60 two-bedroom apartments, as well as 10 three-bedroom suites.
"In the Middle East, we are currently engaged in the strategic expansion of the Crowne Plaza brand," explained Pascal Gauvin, Chief Operating Officer, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG, "as well as growing the footprint of our InterContinental Residence Suites."
As of January 1, 2017, IHG is the 3rd largest hotel group worldwide, with 5,174 properties and 767,135 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
