Connie, the robot concierge created by Hilton and IBM, has taken up her position at the Hilton McLean in Virginia.

As the hotel's concierge, Connie is able to inform guests about local tourist attractions and opening times, recommend restaurants and parks nearby, and indicate which commodities the hotel offers as well as other provide other indications. After a few weeks of operation, she (yes, the robot is female) will also be able to access archives of customer requests in order to improve her services.

While Connie is still a pilot project, She could very well be the first of a wave of humanoid recruitment in several Hilton Hotels & Resorts properties, and maybe even Hilton Worldwide Group.

Several properties in the world already rely on robots for some of their services, such as the Aloft Cupertino, in the United States, which has entrusted some of its room service to A.L.O., and the Henn-Na Hotel, in Japan, which decided to have Nao welcome its guests.
