A new academic partnership for Hilton

Hilton Worldwide and Christ University's School of Hotel Management in Bangalore, India have signed an agreement for a new training program. The Hilton Class program will give students the opportunity to receive rigorous on-the-job training from the international hotelier which should improve both their experiential and theoretical preparedness for a career in the hotel industry. In addition, the hotel group will organize guest lectures, on-site visits, and e-learning programs to prepare students for the workplace.Hilton Worldwide and Christ University will then select 15 first-year students from each Hilton Class to be offered a 24-week internship at Hilton establishments. Outstanding students will be able to secure job offers from Hilton Worldwide-operated properties upon graduation.The agreement has come with the explosive growth in the Indian hospitality sector, thus demand for well-equipped professionals. According to Martin Rinck, President - Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide, the program also gives Hilton Worldwide an additional outlet to express its interest in developing its portfolio in India. "We are delighted with this opportunity to nurture talent for the growing hospitality industry in this country. Besides providing Hilton Worldwide with access to best-in-class talent to support our expansion, we believe this initiative will also benefit the industry as more trained students enter the workplace", says Rinck.
